Knypersley Reservoir

A landscape photography blog by Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire based landscape photographer Rob Thorley Photography.

A drab, and rainy Sunday inspired a quick trip out to Knypersley Reservoir in Staffordshire. I'd not been to this spot in over two years, and the last time I was there I'd forgotten my tripod, so shot my images with the camera balanced on a rock in the middle of the stream. With no light on offer the plan was once again to try some longer exposures, and get differing amounts of movement in the water. Like photography in general, long exposures are very subjective.

Personally I liked the movement that is captured in first image, which had a shutter speed of 0.4 seconds.

You can view more images from my gallery of other Staffordshire locations.
