A landscape photography blog by Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire based landscape photographer Rob Thorley Photography.

Plan A was Bamford Edge, but unfortunately it was one of those days where I just ran out of time, so still fancying some fresh air it was onto Plan B, Ramshaw Rocks in the Staffordshire Peak District..

Tonight was all about standing in some different spots, and looking for compositions for a sunrise shoot, although I was quite pleased with the images I got this evening. Personally I think Ramshaw Rocks works best at sunrise, or an hour, or two before sunset as it catches side light. I find it tricky to balance shooting back to The Roaches, and Hen Cloud after the sun dips behind them, and shooting directly into the sun before it sets, isn't my favourite thing to do.

You can view more images from The Roaches, and my gallery of other Peak District locations.
